Emergency Car Assistance

Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time. Since September 2020 I've been living out of my car. It's pretty much the only thing I've had and was my primary source of income, up until now. Over the last couple weeks, I've had trouble with it. And in an effort to fix it I've spent the money I had saved up, which wasn't a ton of money to begin with. After seeing I obviously wasted my time and money with 2 different mechanics, I went to a final one, who I probably should've went to from the start who let me know my transmission is bad. Apparently that's a thing in my particular vehicle and since it is they don't bother repairing them or replacing with used transmissions. I would have to get one from the dealer and that cost runs $3,800. Pretty much they say I'm at a point where I'm better off buying a car because even getting a new transmission for the same car means I'll be running into the same problem again down the road. Which brings me to my ask.. I know times are hard for just about everybody right now and this may not be possible but I'm trying to put some money together to get a cash car. I know a couple people who sell cars willing to work with me. Anything that can be spared would be a huge help and greatly appreciated. I've been told that to get something reliable I should expect to have to spend between $1,200 - $3,000 on a vehicle so, while I'm setting the goal at $3,000 if I can get something for less that's just as reliable I won't complain either. Thank you in advance for even taking the time to read this message and I am forever indebted and love for any and all willing to help.
