Emergency Expenses
Sorry for the long post, but I needed everyone to fully understand our situation! We've been served with an an eviction notice stating we've been behind since 2014 for the total amount of $1672.28. And this is the 1st time they've ever contacted me about it!!! There is NO way we're behind that much, We paid 400$ in January of 2018 and they told us that was all we owed. I could see maybe 600$ or so behind, because we had some troubles with my Social Security payments, I worked last year through their Ticket to Work program and was overpaid, so in October of 2019, we got no check and in January of 2020, I fought with them 1/2 the month on whether or not they were going to pay me, while they were trying to figure out how much they were going to dock my monthly disability benefits and then I had applied for the debit card through them. Well, the debit card company and I went back and forth, they sent the card via USPS, and somehow it was sent back as wrong address, so I called and they Express shipped it for 13.00, well UPS never showed up with it on the scheduled date, so I called and they tell me somehow they ended up mailing it to me again, so I flipped out. Here it is the 23rd of the month already and no bills have been paid, I've been without much food or essentials for nearly two weeks now, and they tell me they will refund the 1st fees and Express Ship again, BUT I still have to pay the fee, I'm livid but whatever just get me my money. Finally, January 27th UPS shows up with my card!! I get a ride to bank and store and pay Bill's online and money's gone! I get a letter from Social Security Administration that same day, they are cutting my check $200 a month for 2 years to pay back the overpayment, I only get 16$ in food stamps so I called my caseworker and told her and she said that they still go by original amount, that a garnishment for overpayment is not a valid reason to reevaluate my case. So now. I get $739 in disability benefits and just $16 in food stamps. I can barely pay my bills monthly, facing eviction so trying to find a place to go and everywhere has waiting lists, which I'm getting on but I don't know how long I will be able to stay here and I don't want an eviction on my record so I'm doing what my lawyer says and putting the rent payments in escrow account through the court. However, he didn't contact me in March to tell I had to put money into the escrow account until the day it was due, and I'd already paid off my gas shutoff notice, so I'm a month behind on that now too! So, I basically need help with moving costs i.e. security deposit, rental truck, storage unit startup fees, moving boxes. Money for food, essentials such as laundry supplies, dishwasher soap, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, personal items, dog and cat food, cat litter, etc.
