Emergency-Facing Eviction
Hello family and friends, I'm reaching out from Biloxi, Mississippi where my life has taken an unexpected turn. It all started when I couldn't renew my driver’s license due to my green card expiring and passport expiring. With no form of identification, I can't even get a job. Suddenly, the very documents that kept my
life on track slipped through my fingers, bringing everything to a standstill. I had gotten laid off from my Security job and my unemployment benefits ended.
My wife having knee surgery on both legs can't work right now and our health insurance has canceled because of non payments.
With a looming eviction notice, the uncertainty has been overwhelming. Every day feels like walking on eggshells as we try to navigate utility shutoff warnings. We had gotten some help from Catholic Charities, which I'm thankful for, and paid half of our electric bill. The fear of losing the electricity and facing eviction is a constant weight on our shoulders.
Amidst this chaos, my wife, three small dogs and our three cats who have been our companions through thick and thin. They greet us everyday, reminding us that love can be found in the simplest moments. Our hope is to keep their home happy and safe, ensuring they feel the stability they deserve as much as we do.
This situation has been both humbling and overwhelming. It's hard to imagine moving forward without resolving these pressing issues. Sharing this has not been easy, but it’s a step we take with hope, trusting in the kindness and understanding of others. Please help us in any way possible. I can provide proof and documents of our situation if needed. Thank you and God Bless.
