Hello there! We were recently given an ultimatum by our landlord—get rid of all of our dogs or move out. We were initially devastated as we found this place a year ago specifically as place we could have our dogs, but the building has since been sold and our new landlord is trying to push everyone out to make way for “high quality tenants.” Our dogs are our family and I just couldn’t imagine giving them up to stay here. We were scared because we planned to stay here a few years; I was planning to give birth next spring in the very room I’m currently writing this. By some miracle, we have found a new place to go, WITH our dogs, back in our home state, but because of the pressures from our current landlord and the new landlord’s desire to fill the space quickly, we need to come up with the money FAST. This hit us so quickly, we should have been better prepared for an emergency like this but unfortunately we’ve spent money on a new car and a revamped nursery (that we now won’t be able to use) this month. I’m so grateful that we’ve found a new place with a landlord that we already know and trust, but I’m scared we won’t come up with the move in sum in time. I’ve never been worried about moving or making things work, somehow things always work out, but this time, with how fast everything is moving, I’m feeling the pressure.
