UPDATE!

We'd like to begin this post by thanking each and every one of you. The outpouring of kindness, love, and generosity has been truly inspirational. We have been blown away by the way so many have stepped up to help someone many of you never even met. Your contributions gave our dear friend and spiritual sister Emma a fighting chance by getting her the needed surgery. We were so excited when she started to make some progress- even being able to eat a few meals and have conversations with her husband, Roberto, the next day. It's with broken hearts that we have to let you know that, in the end, she wasn't able to hang on. All indications are that she suffered a massive stroke. She passed away as she was being rushed back to her family in Belize.

There's no easy transition to this, but the fight isn't over. Our focus now is to make sure the family doesn't have to deal with an overwhelming financial debt as the consequences of this tragedy. Despite our very best efforts to keep expenses as low as possible, the hospital bills and ambulance fees have surpassed their initial estimates.

Your generosity has already been heartwarming and we understand many have already given what they can and we are so very grateful. Please feel free to share this link with as many as you'd like. The family is so very thankful and feels truly indebted. Without a doubt, you will be giving to help a man with a grateful heart who will never stop being appreciative and will never stop thanking Jehovah for your kindness. All the proceeds have and will continue to be given to Roberto and his children, Placido, Anna, Floricita, Xiomara, Junior, Miguel, and James.
