Dr. & Mrs. Jack Baker (Grandpa & Grandma)
Emmie June Baker
On February 19th, Emmie had her scheduled Pulsatile Glenn surgery; the first surgery in a series of surgeries that would alter her heart to function with a single ventricle. The doctors at Texas Children's estimated she would spend 7-10 days in the hospital post-op recovering. During the surgery her right lung collapsed and although they were able to get it up and running afterwards, it re-collapsed in her healing process. On February 22nd, the doctors were able to determine that she had a bacterial infection and transported her to the ER where she was placed on a life support machine called ECMO. She remained on ECMO until February 26th when the doctors decided to reverse the Glenn operation they had done the pervious Monday. In doing so, Emmie was able to come off of ECMO and her infection has slowly been improving. She remains sedated and on a ventilator but her vitals have been stable which is a huge praise!
God has been so faithful throughout this dark and scary time and we are so thankful for each and everyone of you who has brought Emmie to the His throne in prayer. We know without a doubt that we have a God who not only hears our cries but turns His face towards us and listens.
Because of the unexpected route of Emmie's recovery, the medical bills that Phillip and Anna will face are staggering. If you would like to bless them financially, this website allows you to do so with no percent taken from them. Thank you so much for remaining in prayer for our Emmie girl and blessing the Baker family in whatever capacity you are able to!
