Thank you Rescue Crew and NEW Supporters! The campaign net from this and the above channels has been less than $700 and thank you. But these weeks have been grueling, hot, and stressful. We need momentum, so this weeks goal is $1000. Please check the Updates. I have been able to offer an exciting incentive, read my raw Medium article.
Dear Friends, Colleagues, and FreeFunders,
Thank you so much for considering my campaign:
Career displaced for many months, and with all government and family safety nets exhausted, I have "GONE BUST" and need immediate help!
Workers can and are falling out of careers, especially in tech (ie Information Technology, IT), and most must replace that income.
Job searching for skilled tech professionals is already challenging, lengthy, time consuming and uncertain. But if that worker is considered OLDER - 40's, 50's, even 60's like myself, that challenge magnifies!
Consider these pain points I am struggling with now:
- Temp Housing Help ($?)
- Cash Cushion ($?)
- Mobile Voice/text/data Plan - Covered
- High volume Mobile Data Plan ($50/month - unpaid but on hold)
- Google Workspace with 10+ years of tech-work related history: email, contacts and data (about $70 behind and suspended)
- Portfolio, data, files, servers, etc. Cloud Services ($30-40/month - $61 due, suspended Aug 8)
- Auto Insurance ($80/month - suspended)
- Auto Registration ($177/year - unpaid)
- A Credit Account ($varies)
- A Storage Unit - temporary ($247/month - PAST DUE and access denied)
- Gas in the tank ($40/week and on empty)
Now, with the above considered, I've calculated the minimum monetary need at $3,032 per month for 3-months, with the target campaign goal of $9,096 - enough I believe to support the get back to real work effort.
With your support I will regroup and recharge for success on my Sr. Software Engineer career goals.
Where did the time and the resources I had or that came in go? Besides continued job-search and research and study to keep pace with the technologies I work with, money went out to expenses listed and other life's needs. Additionally, I gave support to others who struggled during the pandemic and quite a bit to my beloved grassroots work with food rescue, redistribution, and outreach. Both solo and with groups dedicated to helping neighbors in our my community - especially the food insecure. Now with my economic position, I still try but am more of a beneficiary.
Please help me. I do pay it forward.
