Empowering Zola
Hello family and friends,
We are excited to let everyone know of Zola's accomplishment. She has been invited to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum(NYFL): Pathway to STEM. This is a program that she was nominated for by teacher and school. Zola was selected because of her exceptional maturity, scholastic merit, and leadership potential even at this young age.
NYLF Pathways to STEM is designed to give future leaders like Zola an unparalleled opportunity while still in elementary school to discover their personal strengths and to begin to acquire the leadership and life skills needed for academic and career success. Zola will have the opportunity to explore a future career in three exciting STEM pathways: medicine, engineering, and crime scene investigation (CSI). She will even practice medical techniques during a realistic simulation titled When Care is Hours Aways. This special session was cerea by the late wilderness medicine expert Dr. Paul Auerback and simulation expert Dr. Rebecca Smith-Coggins while professors in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University's School of Medicine.
This program is hosted across the country at various colleges during the months of June and July. The closest location for Zola is at Campbell University in Raleigh, NC. The program cost is $3,500. We are asking for any help with the cost of the program.
We will close on June 10th. Zola has always been a bright and smart child. On the equivalent of the A-B Honor roll since kindergarten. Now in the 4th grade and one of the highest graded students in her school. Please help her to continue with this wonderfully opportunity.
Thank you
Zola and Family
