EPC COVID-19 FUND
emergency praxis collaborative is a group of educators, art workers, critical theorists, and activists based in and around new york city. we are taking collective action to mitigate the human costs of the COVID-19 crisis, reflecting a shared sense of deep concern for the health and well being of our friends, colleagues, comrades, neighbors, and fellow new yorkers. we are not surprised, but we share a sense of emergency, a sense of outrage, and a commitment to transforming our feelings of solidarity into concrete change. the goal of this fundraiser is to get money directly into the hands of people who are best positioned to use it to confront the most immediate aspects of the crisis.
all of the money raised here will be distributed as cash grants to emergency funds and mutual aid networks that represent those populations that are currently most at risk. these include members of underresourced communities, people in prison or immigration detention, people of color, undocumented people, health workers, unhoused and/or food insecure people, domestic workers, queer folks, so-called "essential workers," and people with disabilities. a list of these funds and their contact information can be found by clicking this link: https://tinyurl.com/ycehpuo3
priority has been given to projects that are bipoc- and/or queer-centered, community-based, horizontally organized, and autonomous from the state. grants are given without conditions. donations are not tax-deductible. the collection and distribution of these funds is determined and overseen by an anonymous steering committee, the demographics of which are consistent with the diversity of the epc as a whole. grants will be distributed on a rolling basis; updates will be posted regularly. any questions can be directed to the administrator of the group: epc dot questions at gmail dot com. thanks for your support!
