Erica is 31 and born severly premature weighing only 1 pound so her lungs didn't fully develop and due to the machines she had to be on it caused permanent damage and scarring. She then developed a disease called Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia which most infants would pass away from or in some cases outgrow it. So as she gets older her lung capacity and breathing become worse. She has been in and out of the hospital a lot over the last few years and was listed for a double lung transplant November 14th, 2016. The money is for medical, travel expenses and lodging. She travels back and forth to Pittsburgh, PA every 3 months for clinic and every 6 months to OSU for pulmonologist. After the transplant she will be staying in Pittsburgh 2-3 months.
