Failure isnt an option

Our family is asking for help getting a reliable car so we can finally have a little stability and peace in our lives.

**Goal: $8,500** (for a safe used vehicle around $5,500-$7,000, plus taxes, title, registration, initial repairs, and gas).

The last few years have been incredibly hard on us. We’ve faced homelessness starting in May 2025, financial stress, and heartbreaking loss, my dad in June 2021, then six months later my husband lost his mom to lung cancer the day after Christmas, and his stepfather the following year. Those losses have left deep holes in our hearts, and trying to carry that grief while still showing up for our children every day has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It’s been a constant battle to keep our strength as a family. Finally, we have secured housing and are trying to rebuild our lives. However, transportation has become one of our biggest struggles. Without a dependable car, our kids missed appointments, and we had to delay important opportunities because we simply did not have a reliable way to get where we needed to be.

I’ve been carrying the emotional and mental load of everything—the worry, the appointments, the schedules, the stress, the grief, the planning, and the constant fear of falling behind. I’ve tried to hold it all together while also being a mom, a partner, and a person trying to heal. I won’t lie—there have been days when it felt like too much. But I’ve kept going, because failure isn’t an option for me and my family.

My husband has worked so hard for our family. For the last several years, he has been the sole breadwinner, especially after our youngest son was born and COVID changed so much of our lives. He has kept showing up and doing everything he can to provide for us, even when things have felt overwhelming. I am deeply thankful for the way he has carried so much for our family.

I’ve also been trying to build a better future for our family. I recently graduated from the Spero program at WSU with a micro-credential, and I’m proud of that step. It was not easy, but I kept pushing forward because I know our family deserves more than the constant struggle we’ve been living. I’m determined to keep moving forward.

Right now, what we need most is a safe, dependable vehicle. We are not asking for anything fancy—just a car that will help us get to work, school, doctor appointments, interviews, and the everyday things our family needs to do to keep moving forward in Wichita. A reliable car would lift a huge weight off our shoulders and give us a little more stability, a little more dignity, and a lot less fear about tomorrow.

If you are able to give, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. And if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would still be a big help. Every single person who reads this and thinks about helping us is someone who cares, and that means more than I can say.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for caring about our family during one of the hardest seasons of our lives. Your kindness and generosity will help us keep going, one step at a time.
