My friend Kia and I met two years ago when we were both in a homeless shelter for women. Little did I know that that would be the beginning of a friendship that would bring us full circle two years later. You see, God had restored us both and Kia went on to do pretty well for herself. But that changed after finding out about her mother‘s cancer diagnosis and her life started to spiral downward. Her mother lives in Indiana and she lives in Texas, and although she was able to visit from time to time, nothing prepared her for the news that her mother was in the hospital and “not doing very well”. Kia felt alone here and fell into a deep depression. She could not get out of bed for days at a time and was not eating, only desiring to be home to see her mother. Thats when I saw a post on Facebook stating that she was trying to sell her belongings desperately trying to raise money to make her way back home to her mom. As a result of this mental state, Kia had lost her job. She had lost her home. She was suffering in silence. Facing immediate homelessness, she lost all hope… but God!

God is a redeemer and by allowing me to find that Facebook post, He allowed me to come along side of Kia and let her know that not only was she not alone. He sent His people to surround her with love and hope and encourage her to keep going on.

I am here asking for you to please pray, but not only pray but give. She’s leaving everything behind so that she can go and see her mom before it’s too late and you can help. She just needs a bus ticket one-way to Fort Wayne, Indiana from Fort Worth, Texas. The cost is between $150-$300, depending on when she leaves…that’s all we’re asking for. Will you help her? Will you be His hands and feet? Will you allow Him to use use and show her His love? Please help her see her mother’s face again as she returns to Indiana to start her new life.
