A very close friend of mine and her family of five desperately need all the help they can get. This family has been homeless since last August when they were forced out of their home by a new owner with 10 days notice. They put everything they own in two storages and took the savings they had and went to a hotel. The little savings they had only lasted them about three weeks in the hotel because they weren't able to find another place soon enough. They have three children 15, 13, and 8. In January her husband was involved in an accident where the other driver didn't have insurance and it totaled his truck. With the one car they do have she drives him to and from work each day and also drives all three of the kids to school and back. His job only pays $800 a week which only covers about 4 or 5 nights in a hotel so the other 2 or 3 nights they rent a camp site in a local state park. They haven't been able to save anything towards getting another home or apartment, and they've lost both of their storage units because the payments are just too much. They literally have nothing left. These kids of theirs are amazing and they surely don't deserve any of this. Especially now in the middle of summer, it's too hot to be in a tent and with school starting again it just breaks my heart to think they'll have to start another school year like this.
