Maria has been living in the States under DACA status for years. Since the Trump administration has come into power, Maria's DACA status is unstable, threatening the livelihood of herself and her children. Maria is struggling to make ends meet, the bills are piling up, her children need to eat, and her DACA status could impact her ability to work. Due to the administrations attack on immigrant communities, Maria knows that she could be taken by ICE at any minute and has signed a document giving parenting powers to her employer in case anything happens to her.
