Keep Queen Fed & Housed

A 2 spirit Autistic Black Indigenous hard workin’ foster system survivor fighter beautiful deep feelin’ soul is humbling herself and turning to community for support to buy groceries for herself & her cat, pay her phone bill, get her record expunged so she has more work opportunities, and help pay rent for the next few months. The county took her SSI away this past month without warning.

<many of us are well attuned to how the riptides of fascism move. our communities have been here before. we continue to call forth the resilience & guidance of the ancestors who know the way forward.>

As I hope you can imagine for someone without any regular support from community & family, this is a huge blow. SSI has been her only way to pay for housing as someone with multiple disabilities. This fundraiser is to ensure Queen stays housed and fed so that she can work and meet the needs thru this season of destabilizing transition.

She’s been doing her best to keep a Crohn’s flare up from taking over and needs to eat certain foods for her brain to function properly. She can’t eat what’s offered at the food shelves as gluten free & Crohn’s/Celiac friendly food are very rare to come by.

She recently wrote a book (connect with her if you’d like a copy) and is in the works of starting up an organization that gives essential aid directly to our neighbors on the streets. She has been recognized by the community for her commitment and passion despite having no ongoing support or safety net from family or community.

She’s clear on her purpose.

Creator & community willing.

She pours everything she’s got into community. She’s currently going thru a Sustainable Landcare Training that will lead her to career pathways around working with Native plants, building and maintaining rain gardens and implementing best storm management practices to clean & protect our water. This training supports majority Black & Indigenous young adults in learning to steward the land & teach others in our communities how to build climate resilience in the face of intensifying environmental and political climate change. These practices are so important for protecting our pollinators, our soil and our animal & insect relatives of all sorts as it creates habitats for them and cleans & protects the water they live in & drink from too. These practices also mitigate the spread of viruses such as COVID that have been spreading thru polluted, mismanaged sewer water.

As a Black Indigenous person this work is extra meaningful and important. She is working hard to come into this work and build skills to support herself and her community through what she learns.

Please help support Queen and speak life & protection into her at this time. Please hold her spiritually. We love Queen 🫀

If you got it, please give. If you don’t got it, please share with at least a few people. Just a few dollars goes a long way.

It’s incredibly normalized for Black people to suffer in silence. Remember it’s a strength to ask for help when needed.

How can you show up for Black Indigenous Queer Two Spirit folks so they can get the resources they need to survive thru this period of struggle?

‘Til reparations & justice come, we gotta keep getting creative in building safety, care & repair with each other.
