Feeding the Flock for my fest
Hi, my name is Kenya Coviak.
I am running a festival in Metro Detroit this August, and some amazing folks have come together to volunteer for the community to have great time. In exchange for this, I am feeding the volunteers out of my own pocket. I have picked up the entire cost of this event out of pocket, and find that I would really rather not make them eat cheese and grapes and hot dogs.
With a little help, I can provide the volunteers with a nutritious lunch of at least one veg, one fruit, a drink like water or soda, and a sandwich or hot entree. They are doing a long day, and I really want to thank them for their dedication to the community.
The event itself, the Detroit Conjure and Folk Magic Festival, is a capsule of culture in Detroit's magic and performance community right now. So many people have volunteered, and with their help we are donating to the local pantry, PIN, and fundraising for a community charity from the event.
I also know that there are a lot of folks who are coming that may not be able to go buy something to eat that day. I would like to be able to discreetly feed them as well, with dignity and kindness.
Please help me to feed these great people. They don't each much, probably, but there are sure a lot of them. My little trailer's kitchen can only do so much.
Thank you for your time, and hopefully your support.
