Fence & Finances on Fumes
Hello!
I’m a single mom and teacher doing my best to keep life steady for my son and our puppy.
Over the past few years, I’ve been building our backyard fence completely on my own. I dug the holes, poured the concrete, set every post, and hung every panel. My son has helped with what he can, but he’s only 12. It’s been exhausting, but I’ve been determined to create a safe, private space, and to show him the importance of taking care of your home and not just hiring someone to do everything for you.
I’ve made it almost to the finish line, and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, but my finances are running on fumes. Between bills increasing with inflation, home costs, and everyday life, I just don’t have anything left to buy the last few materials, gate hardware, and stain to finish what I started.
I can do the work — I’ve done all of it so far — but I’m physically and financially tapped out. I’m not someone who asks for help easily, which is obvious considering this is taking me 3 years, but I’ve learned that sometimes we need a hand to get through a hard season.
Every bit raised will go directly toward finishing the fence, catching up on essentials, and breathing room to finally feel stable again.
I can’t offer much in return except my deepest gratitude and prayers. Every person who helps — whether through a donation, a share, or simply a prayer — will be in my prayers, too. I’ll be asking that the kindness you show me comes back to you tenfold.
Even if you can’t give, just taking the time to read this means more than I can express. May we all be reminded of hope, faith, and community as we face life’s challenges.
Thank you for helping me cross the finish line. 💛
