My name is Juliette Tacon. Just so you know - cancer sucks. Know what else sucks? It is having four separate occurrences of breast cancer, five different chemotherapy protocols, radiation, a lumpectomy, a mastectomy, and to top it all off having ongoing lymphedema. What sucks even more than that is knowing you are not done yet and knowing your funds are going, going, gone but the out-of-pocket medical cost are continuing to mount.

You might think otherwise but I am more than just my cancer. I am a mother, grandmother, former caregiver, retired teacher, and activist. I enjoy crocheting, gardening, reading, and I am a steampunk enthusiast. I would like to continue to be all those things as long as I can.

Why am I telling you all this? Despite having good insurance and having been able to keep up with the co-pays, non-covered procedures, and other out-of-pocket costs for four years, I now have no reserves. Which is where you come in! Give a dollar, give five, give a million... every little bit helps. But seriously, my current and expected expenses are $5,000. Should I receive more funds than I need, I will pass those blessings on to others in my same situation.
