Fight Fibro & Fatigue
I've been fighting fibromyalgia nearly all my adult life. I've had lots of ups and downs but until last summer I was able to function and work part-time. Unfortunately, in the past year I've developed chronic fatigue syndrome and deteriorated quickly. Between the constant pain, extreme weakness, exhaustion, and stress, I'm struggling with daily necessities like heating up meals. In this situation, I'm no longer able to work.
My meager savings are long gone, spent on the effort to get better. For 2 1/2 years I've been trying to get Social Security, but I've been denied. I'm waiting for a hearing, but there's a backlog of cases so I don't have a date. I'm eligible for other government assistance but that doesn't cover all my expenses. My church has committed to provide partial support, but they have many other requests for help.
The prescriptions typically used for fibromyalgia are worse than useless in my case. Most of what my doctors recommend isn't covered by insurance. There are also a number of things I need to cope with physical limitations.
