I'm the mother of 6 beautiful babies. The last 6 months have been rough. We uprooted our five children to come to Illinois from Oregon. This was not an easy task to do but we did it because my eldest son had been taken away from his father from the state. I have been trying for the last 6 months to fight for him and keep being told that I have no rights. We have been doing everything in our power to survive. We found jobs, got a place and everything seemed to be slowly going in the right direction. So we thought, we soon found out that the house we had rented has bed bugs. The landlord will not do anything to help us. We can't afford to treat the house our self. Its a small town and people talk so finding a new place is near impossible especially when your living pay check to paycheck. We had been having some issues with our vehicle and finally broke down and had it fixed, within 2 weeks of doing that the transmission is failing, we can't find a new place here, were yet to get help from the state for our oldest or have any rights. We obviously can't hire an attorney. I even was desperate to turn to housing and was told "sorry, there's nothing we can do, we only offer 1&2 bedrooms in all of crawford county, your family, exceeds that" we have nowhere to turn and I'm so desperate i decided to try this.
