FlexStep

I am participating in the Wrightsville Beach Sprint Triathlon in honor of my wife, Megan, who lives with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Over the years, I’ve ridden hundreds of miles through 'Bike MS' and participated in multiple other fundraisers for the MS Society. This time, my fundraising is closer to home: I’m raising funds to purchase a FlexStep* to help make our house safe and accessible for Megan. It’s an important part of our plans to adapt our home to her needs, alongside a renovation that will include the addition of an accessible room and bathroom. Donations to this fundraiser will go directly toward the FlexStep.

I’ve trained for the Wrightsville Beach Triathlon twice before, but I haven’t done it since becoming a mom. Motherhood has made training quite a different experience, including 7 a.m. swims and 9 p.m. runs—whenever I can fit them into our family’s schedule. But I am dedicated to crossing that finish line!

My love for Megan is unending, and this race is one way I can put it into action. If you’d like to show your love and support for Megan, please consider donating. Every contribution brings us closer to a home where she can move safely and comfortably. Thank you for supporting Megan and our family.

*The FlexStep by Liftup is a dynamic 2-in-1 home accessibility solution, combining stairs and a lift into one single unit. It is an adaptable, space-saving solution that is a lift when you need it and stairs when you don’t. The total cost is $30,000. Watch the included video to see the FlexStep in action.

You can also send your donation through Venmo or check if you prefer. This will eliminate the 2.9% processing fee.
