HELP CONTINUE THE MISSION
What if you were suddenly and unceremoniously told you may never run, walk, or complete a 5K again. That is my story:
Hello everybody, Fatman on a Mission here. My mission is simple: To return myself to a place of health and to drag as many people with me as I can.
My method is even more simple: Complete a 5K in every county in Texas.
Simple, but challenging. It became even moreso right after I crossed the midway point. Covid hit and it hit me pretty hard. Not only did the disease try to take me out and left me with lingering health issues, the vaccine, later, took away the regular and normal use of my feet and legs. Now, I am on disability as my only source of income. Even so, I remain committed to the original vision.
I have healed as much as I can for now and I still have an unfinished goal and I still have a job to do...complete 124 more 5K's. That is where I am looking for your help.
I need a wheelchair that can allow me to complete road races and trail runs regardless of the condition of the weather or road/trail. The video shows the chair I have selected. It is expensive but I believe it is best suited to help me meet you on the course.
As an added benefit this All Terrain chair will allow Max (my service dog) and I to start hiking and camping again. These are activities that really bring meaning, peace, and shape to my life and something I have truly missed since 2022. I need to be able to go out and touch a leaf, eat TVP, and smell a fire burning.
Please consider a donation of ANY size.
As a bonus, an anonymous donor has promised to match dollar-for-dollar upto at least $1,000 for any funds we can raise together. So your $25 becomes $50, your $50 becomes $100, and your $100....well, you get the idea.
My goal is to have the funds in hand by Valentines Day so I can start training on the road in time to enter my first events by the end of March.
Will you please help before I have to sing "In the Arms of an Angel". (Trust me. Nobody wants that!)
