We're in our second year of running Knight Fights here at The Cleveland High School for Digital Arts. Thank you to Gorgtech for writing about us in their blog recently!

Our initial set of weapons is beginning to fall apart from standard wear and tear. Out of 20 one-handed Blue/Green swords, we're down to 12 that still pass inspection. We'd like to replace and/or repair those weapons so we can continue to offer full participation to all the members of our twice-weekly foam fighting club.

Some of the students have also asked about branching out into other weaponry types. As a standard, we use blue/green single-hand bats. We also have 2 red greatswords and 20 punch-buckler shields. We'd like to add daggers, spears, and possibly axes or other polearms into the mix.

Additionally, we're hoping to raise funds to pay for this year's club-exclusive spirit wear (preview pictured below).

We've made a lot of progress over the last two years. My students have come a long way as fighters but also as students. Activities like this are a fun way to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving skills. These kids have shown not only a real love for the sport, but increased focus and dedication in their classes since joining up with Knight Fights.

Right now, we're aiming to raise $750 for our spirit-wear and an additional $1250 for new weapons and replacement parts.
