Who is Ricky?
Ricky is a visually impaired, homeless vagabond that frequents the Lake Orion/Oxford area. If you're in the area, you may see him in his bright yellow-green rain gear, pushing his bicyle and trailer.
He is a very kind and loving gentleman, who also has a deep faith and love for Jesus. He's easily approachable. Simply call him by name and introduce yourself, and instantly you'll find yourself engaged in a pleasant conversation.
You won't find Ricky holding a sign or asking for help. He mostly keeps to himself and does not interfere with others. However, he does love people and conversation, and he's very appreciative of anybody willing to befriend him.
Why Should We Help?
Ricky has faced many life challenges, yet he does not feel sorry for himself nor would he want you to feel sorry for him either. He's simply doing his best to survive while also not wanting to be a burden to others.
Furthermore, his visual impairment and other personal hurdles, make it challenging (if not impossible) to lead a traditional lifestyle. His greatest needs are shelter, food, & supplies, and this is what we aim to assist with them.
My Personal Commitment to You...
My name is Brian Winter and I personally commit to utilizing 100% of all net donations made to directly benefit Ricky to the best of my ability. The only obligatory expense is the unavoidable, credit card processing fees for Stripe (card processor). I specifically chose to launch this fundraiser on FreeFunder.com because there are no fees incurred for the platform itself, thus maximizing the benefit of danations on Ricky's behalf.
