Several years back I had a best friend; "Nicolas". He was a spunky little Cocker Spaniel who did everything with me.  As a bachelor working long hours, I would look forward to coming home after a 12 hour day to my lil buddy. Eventually, I did meet a woman and, as our relationship progressed, we eventually began a family and moved to a larger home. The place we moved to didn't allow pets so, Nicky had to go to another home. Although I missed him dearly, I never really felt "lonely" as that I had my family.

    As time went on, the kids grew and our relationship fell apart. We eventually split. One of the kids is grown and in college and the other two stay with their mother in California. I live alone. Lately, the loneliness has really become depressing. I remember how Nick used to bring me joy and companionship and am thinking it is time to get another little buddy.

    Due to some physical limitations, I can only work part time. I do okay but basically live pay to pay. I would like to adopt another pet but adoption fees are anywhere from $300 to $500. Someone suggested I try this forum to ask for help to raise enough to adopt a new friend.

 This may seem kinda trivial compared to all the "good" causes out there but it is important to me. I was always taught; "You don't know unless you ask" so, I am asking.
