Free Calvin Coleman

Calvin Coleman is a victim of Louisiana's Jim-Crow jury majority scheme, wrongfully convicted of a crime based on a non-unanimous jury verdict. Known as "10-2", the jury majority conviction system was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2018, but those people with convictions on the books were left to serve their heinously wrongful sentences. This miscarriage of justice affects hundreds of innocent men in Louisiana, many of them serving life without parole based on a blatantly racist holdover from Jim Crow. Calvin maintains his innocence, and has filed an appeal in his case that could win his freedom. Incarcerated for more than 23 years to date, Calvin's dedication to seeking justice and fighting for freedom has only strengthened; we are eager to win his freedom so he may continue to affect positive change in Louisiana and the world at large, and fight for other 10-2 victims' freedom. We are raising funds to retain legal counsel as he courageously navigates this process from behind bars. Please, donate what you can and spread the word. Nobody's free until everybody's free!
