Hello!

For many low-income families, public schools are the only way to access speech-therapy services. Best practice research in speech therapy shows that children are most able to make and maintain their progress when their families or caregivers carry over techniques learned in therapy to the home setting.

Unfortunately scheduling and funding restrictions do not allow for this in the public school setting. I want to provide a free evidence-based parent workshop that will educate parents about children's language development, train parents on evidence based techniques to use at home that meet their child's specific needs, and empower them to advocate for their child's needs both in and out of school.

For many of my families, taking the time out of their weeks to attend this workshop may negatively impact their ability to provide for their families. Thus, I want to provide all families that attend with groceries to make sure that their time in training is well worth it.
