Freedom, and Our Future!
My name is Amanda, I am a 35 year old mother with two amazingly perfect little boys (ages 5 and 8). I have been seperated from their father for over 2 years; having filed for divorce with the help of an attorney prior to leaving in March of 2015.
The Divorce Attorney I had hired was horrible, she basically did NOTHING besided filing the first official paperwork. She not only left the country multiple times while representing me (without so much as mentioning it to me), but also postponed my first scheduled court date - and failed to let me know if my second scheduled court date... I ended up firing her after spending over $4000 in legal fees and not being even a day closer to the divorce being final.
I was notified on Sunday the 26th that my ex-inlaws will be filing Forgery 2 charges against me for property THEY illegally transferred without my persmission and that was being held as part of the legal stay of property that is placed on all assets once divorce paperwork is filed.
Essentially, my ex's family is using their business to hide and transfer assets my ex left our marriage with... most everything has been sold and they claim that we never owned it, therefore they didn't need my permission to sell it. Mind you I never even got a penny, not even from items that my ex and I had agreed would be split if and ehen the items(s) were ever sold.... everything is gone.
I need to hire a criminal defense attorney to help me fight the charges that are going to be filed against me for Forgery 2. A fraud charge resulting in a Felony means I will not be able to work at my current job, or many others in the Medical field in which I work... I won't be able to rent many houses - which I need to do currently, I won't be able to help out at my childrens school... go on field trips, and be a huge part of their school life like I have always tried to be. On top of that, I will have a FELONY charge on my record for something I NEVER did or would do. I also need to hire a new divorce attorney to help me re-file for divorce, and fight for the thins that both me and my children deserve.
I am a woman that has endured a fairly rough life from a very young age, I have worked entirely too hard to maintain a safe, happy, and healthy environment for me and my children since leaving my ex 2 years ago. My children and I have endured years of abuse (mentally and physically), horrible rumors being started by this 'family', stalking, and harrassment.... I need for all of this to stop, and I need your help to do that. I am looking at not only jail time, but a felony conviction that this family will use against me in divorce court to try to take my parental rights from me.
As I said, I work my kids and love hard - I want only the best for my children, but I financially do not have the ability to defend myself from a family that has vowed to go bankrupt in order to ruin me. Any amount of money you can donate will help me; a dollar dontated is a dollar closer to our freedom as a family.
It took too many years for me to leave, years that I regret and cry about often; years I spent protecting my kids from the monster that lived in my husband and their father... until one day I realized I only had to protect them, because I put us there, if I left - he wouldn't be able to abuse us anymore... and while the physical abuse stopped when I left, the mental abuse and threats continue even 2 years later.
I never filed charges against my ex for fear of retaliation from his family, embarrasment, but also because I never wanted my kids to look up online when they were older and see the person that their father was and the horrible things that were done to me and them. I hoped by just leaving silently and not pressing charges they would leave us alone to live, grow, heal, and be happy; but they haven't allowed that in the slightest. Having great attorneys on my side to protect my name, reputation, and squeaky clean legal slate will mean that I am able to put more of my time into raising two very happy and healthy boys that would never have to worry about this family coming after our freedom and happiness again.
Please, please help me in ANY way you can... I have found 2 attorneys that are willing to go the distance to clear my name and make sure my boys and I are safe from harrasment in the future!
