FREELANCERS Pilot

Hey Friends, Family, and Fans!

We're finally doing it – parlaying our 10+years of experience working in production into a passion project that is timely, funny, and means the world to us – introducing Freelancers!

Freelancers is an episodic series dramatizing and comedizing the realities of freelancing. Following the lives of two creative freelancers and their friends, each episode is about getting gigs and chasing checks and living self-employed in Minneapolis. But beyond that, it's about people surviving.

We still need to raise funds to make this happen – that's where you come in.

Whether you can donate $50, $500, or $5,000, know that every dollar raised on this platform will go straight into the pockets of our Minnesota-local cast and crew.

Upon completion of the pilot, we'll host a screening in Minneapolis where everyone who donates will be invited (that's you!). We plan to shop this pilot around, submit it to festivals, and leverage it to attract financing to fund Freelancers Season One.

The cast is set and the crew is ready and we begin filming the first week in August.

Help us get Freelancers made – donate today!

Pilot Synopsis:

Colin + Esteban miss every shot on the basketball court, where we learn about Colin's blog rating restaurant bathrooms. Kate wastes a morning worry-scrolling before work, and is busted at the new coffee shop accidentally cashing in on an undeserved perk. Colin's mom pays for his car repairs – again – and he has a freelance gig. Once the photo shoot is over, Colin unwittingly becomes a getaway driver when his subject asks for a ride to the airport, stopping at the ATM to drain her bank account on the way. Suspecting he'll be paid in cash, Colin is stunned to be handed a check which cannot be deposited. Kate spends the night (and her dwindling grocery money) out with friends Emily and Avery before coming home to hear all about Colin's terrible day as a freelancer. All in a day's work.

All donors will get their name in the credits of this show.

  • Backers of $500+ will be credited as Executive Producers
