Fueling Liberation
As we head into the darkest time of the year, we ask you to join us in an effort to support the light of freedom and solidarity with our migrant siblings.
Union Combativa - Resistencia, the collective of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated migrants and families who are leading La Resistencia's powerful organizing for migrant justice, has called on Never Again-Seattle and our partners, the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice and Bend the Arc-Seattle, to provide critical support for their ongoing organizing efforts. We -- all of us! -- have been asked us to raise funds for things that are essential to the health and well-being of these amazing organizers: commissary items (like toothpaste and protein) and phone calls for those inside the Northwest Detention Center; and groceries and prepared meals for the network of organizers and their families on the outside, who organize long nights after working long days.
Hanukkah tells the story of our people fighting for self-determination and liberation. Union Combativa - Resistencia is fighting for these same things today.
In Jewish tradition, the number 18 represents “chai” -- life. Never Again Seattle is setting an initial goal of 72 people (quadruple chai) to give at least $18 each, to support and honor our migrant siblings fighting for life, justice, and dignity.
Just like we celebrate the oil stretching beyond expectations during Hanukkah, we want our fundraising to surpass our minimum goals. Will you help make that possible by committing to sharing this with at least three other people -- asking them to add more fuel to the lights of justice?
By donating and sharing this ask with others, you will extend the gift of liberation. Your contribution will help stoke the flames of justice and dignity for our siblings inside and outside the NWDC. Join us!
