FU*K Cancer: Help Aidan

FU*K Cancer: Help Aidan Beat This!

For those of you who don’t know, Aidan (18 years old) was diagnosed with T-ALL Cancer (Lymphoma/Leukemia) Stage 4 on April 17, 2025. They did a biopsy and PET scan on April 18, 2025, and found a mass the size of a large grapefruit (10.2 cm) between his heart and lungs. He was hospitalized, and treatment began swiftly.

His mom, his full-time caregiver, immediately left her home unoccupied in Alabama to be by his side at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, SC. She has no way to produce income during this time and still has a mortgage and home upkeep to pay for in Alabama, as well as an apartment to keep in South Caraloina close to the hospital where treatment is taking place. They feel blessed to have good insurance that helps alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with medical expenses. However, the hospital bills are astounding.

Aidan was hospitalized for 5 weeks initially, then home for 3 weeks (with regular outpatient clinic visits). Recently, they were back in the ER on June 23 and admitted to the PICU with pneumonia, high fevers (104.9), and tachycardia. They were discharged from the PICU on July 3, 2025, and transferred to the cancer floor again, where they remained until July 14, 2025. They are finally home again until another upcoming required hospitalization for chemo treatment begins on July 23, 2025.

To date, Aidan has had several procedures under general anesthesia, rounds of many different chemotherapies (including ‘Red Devil’), lumbar punctures, blood and platelet transfusions, in addition to antivirals, antifungals, antibiotics, and immunotherapies.

Aidan is also a Type 1 Diabetic (diagnosed when he was 9 years old), which makes treatment even more difficult. Navigating low/high blood sugars and unexpected interactions from certain chemotherapies, steroids, and other medications. This process is long and grueling! The complete treatment protocol for his particular type of cancer is 2 1/2 to 3 years long.

A cancer diagnosis, as this one, is one of the most devastating things a parent can witness as their child fights for his life. Please consider helping Aidan and his family win his battle for survival. No amount is too small. Everything helps!

We will keep you updated with his progress.

Thank you kindly for all the prayers, well wishes, and support!
