My name is Aquaide, I am 27 years old and the mother of a beautiful 6 year old girl. She is my absolute world. I am also a student in flight school. Obtaining my commercial pilot certification is a dream I have had since I could remember. I was around 6 years old and it was the first time I flew in a plane. I was given the opportunity to see the cockpit and meet the captain and co-pilot. From that day forward I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Around 18 I tried to join the air force but I didn't meet certain qualifications as far as vision. I went to fly a Cessna a couple times for fun. Nothing ever came out of it as I could not afford it. I am a very goal driven person. I couldn't afford flight school about 7 years ago so I went ahead and got my CDL and drove a truck for many years. I've owned businesses but never found much interest in them. I write this now as I am in need of help for school funding. My knowledge test have placed me in advance classes. I take my education very serious. I want to set an example to my daughter as well. I want her to achieve her dreams and know it doesn't matter how long it takes or what obstacles may get in the way. Everything is possible! I've prayed about this every night and some has came to fruition. I got accepted into the flight school I've wanted to go to. I've applied for FAFSA and was granted a loan and pell grant. Of which I'm incredibly grateful for. Unfortunately is not enough to cover books, general aviation knowledge 141 and different fees associated with exams and badges I will need for airport access. Any help I could get would be very much appreciated as this is a dream of mine that I am working very hard at making a reality. My financial situation is not very great. I am a single mom and my mother helps with my daughter when I'm in class. As I'm a full time student and work accounting for a small trucking company. I make time as well to volunteer and help people as much as possible. As I am raising my daughter to use her heart. I have opened my home to other mothers struggling. I do what I can with what I have. And even though I have been taken advantage of many times I still tell my daughter forgiveness and love is what will make you happy. I study and read at home. Anything new or any information I need to retain I do it. The only reason I ask for 10,000 is this would get me through the ground and private flight lessons. The total tuition is about 55,000 but I could never ask for so much. Only for pieces I am missing. Any extra money that doesn't go to my bills or my daughters needs and extra curricular activities for her goes to school. I am stretched pretty thin on money at this point. I pray every night a miracle will happen but sometimes feels like my dream is so close but so far away. Any help would mean the world to me, and give me an opportunity to make a career out of this and give my daughter the best life I can give her. Thank you for taking time to read my story. God bless!
