Fundraiser for Heather
As many people know, Heather Graff-Sullard has been battling cancer for quite some time. She is strong, brave, humble and loves to take care for her own. However, it is time, we help take care of her! Heather is a single mother to Avery who is 10, and two grown children, Kendra and Ty. She is also a grandma to her precious grandson Jace. Family is what keeps Heather fighting!
Heather has been accepted into a clinical trial at Siteman Cancer Center in St Louis! With this great news, I wanted to find a way to help her as I'm sure you all have been too. The funds will go towards her travel back and forth for treatment and whatever else she needs!
In 2018, Melanoma was found at a basic routine dermatology appointment. Surgery was scheduled to remove lymph nodes and cancer spots/skin graft to her head in December of 2018. After 1 year of immunotherapy- she remained cancer free for 3 months, after the treatment ended. Since then, the cancer has spread like wildfire (bones, liver, lungs, lymph nodes, breasts, soft tissue) Ellis Fischel sent her to St. Louis after saying they could no longer help her. The new was devastating but Heather doesn't quit! After trying two different types of Chemo, Immunotherapy and denial into one other trial nothing has helped from the metastasis growing and spreading. She doesn't take pain meds because she needs to preserve her liver function.
As January 17th, Heather has been accepted into this clinical trial studying Atezolimab/NT17. She will have to go more than she originally expected. Treatment will be every three weeks, but labs back in St Louis 7 days after treatment. Radiation will start next week and will be probably be every day for a while in Columbia. Let's take some stress off of her in the ways that we can! Please continue to pray for Heather, her kids, and her family! They need all the love and support we can give them! #fightlikeamom
