Help Me Get to Paris!
Bonjour!
My name is Gabriella; I am a theatre student in Wisconsin. I have been in school for four years, and I'm on my fourth and final year! In my time studying theatre arts, I have discovered a multitude of opportunities that have lead me into a path to a successful career. I'm so excited to begin exploring into the next phase of my life. However, there was one thing in college I never thought I would have the opportunity to do. I have told my family how much I always wanted to study abroad, but it was never in the cards. Programs oversea were always too expensive and the effort it took to go on a semester-long trek anywhere outside of the United States seemed too difficult with the workload college brought.
This year, a friend of mine showed me a course called Springtime in Paris! This is week long, 3 credit, study abroad program my school is offering this year. The deal with signing up with my friend was two theatre arts students would go on this trip, and the class would be able to go to shows at Parisian theatres, most notably Le Comedie Francais! This prospect was so exciting, and having never been overseas nor thinking I would have the opportunity to, I immediately jumped on board! We are so psyched for planning and preparing to enter France for a whole week.
In the midst of coming up with a saving plan, applying for grants and scholarships, I realize that the price of this trip would be a challenge. The cost of this week-long program will equate to $2574 that will take place during my spring break next semester. There are extra fees are being used for undesignated costs, the passport fee, meals, and transportation, which I incorporated to my goal. I will be saving and doing my best, but I am also balancing between two jobs and school, along with paying for basic things like my rent and food. Therefore, I am asking for help!
If you have anything you can give, I would greatly appreciate it. I set my goal at the total cost of the program, but If I receive half of that goal, I will be so happy and satisfied! Like I said, I am going to do as much as I can to save for this trip, but I am thankful for any generosity that someone can give! Even just sharing this campaign on facebook would mean so much!
Merci beacoup, mes amis!!!
