Get Kelso to Nashville!
Well, Chattanooga, where do I even start? The family you've allowed me to build and experiences had in the last 28 years have given me one hell of a story, and a true home base to further my journey. But I do believe the story written so far is just the beginning.
A little backstory, for those just tuning in, about 6 years ago I left the very strict religion I grew up in and began living my own life. I promised myself at this time that I would give my music career all I could give. Fast forward through Covid, losing complete contact with my family and other previously unforeseen variables, I am now at a point where I can finally take the next step in this endeavor. Part of why I am able to do this now is because of the beautiful, chosen family I now have that, instead of holding me back, have given me nothing but support for my ambitions.
Music has been my lifeline for as long as I can remember and something I have worked incredibly hard at for the last 14 years of playing live music. I started writing songs at age 7 and since then have written over 1000 songs. I say this to make the point that I believe this is my true calling and wish to share my music with the world.
The Chattanooga music scene will always be part of my family and a vital role in my journey to where I am today. That being said, I believe it is time for me to move to a city where there are more opportunities and chances to get my foot in a bigger door. Nashville will be the next stop in this journey for me and I couldn't be more equally terrified and excited!
If you know me, you know I do not ask for help very easily. But, after much deliberation, I have decided to start this fundraiser to help make this move as easy and safe as possible. My lease ends May 1 so that will be the goal date of the move, if not a bit sooner depending on where I am able to find a room/job. Along with donations, I am taking any advice or recommendations anyone has for moving from your hometown for the first time in general, or moving to Nashville specifically!!
Thank you, Chattanooga, for giving me such a special place to always call home. I will be back, and that is a promise!!
