On 4/21/21 Badea's heart suddenly stopped at work. Thankfully, she was surrounded by nurses (my heroes) who were able to perform chest compressions for 11 minutes and resuscitate her. After many tests failed to identify a cause for this event, she had to have an AICD surgically placed that will shock her heart in case it stops again in the future.

Because of lost hours at work due to Covid over the past year, Badea only had 3 hours of paid leave at the time this occurred, so not only does she now have extensive medical bills for this new pricey (but life-saving) device, she also now has no income for at minimum 5-6 weeks.

Everyone who knows Badea knows that she never turns down a friend in need. She has saved me personally multiple times. As her niece, I am hoping we can return the favor to her and lift her up during this time. I truly believe a financial burden and the stress it causes would be adverse to her recovery.
