Gimlis Vet expenses

I’m reaching out because my 5-month-old ferret, Gimli, is very sick and I’m trying everything I can to figure out what’s wrong with him.

Over the past several days, he’s had worsening symptoms including extreme lethargy, breathing changes, coughing/gagging episodes, and a loss of normal energy and appetite. We’ve already been to the emergency vet multiple times, and initial testing has shown concerning abnormalities including anemia, signs of infection or inflammation, low protein levels, and mild enlargement of his heart on X-ray. His spleen also appears enlarged.

Right now, the vets believe possibly infection, gastrointestinal disease, or another underlying condition affecting multiple parts of his body. We’ve been advised that the next critical step is to see a cardiologist to determine whether his heart is structurally affected or if it’s being stressed by another illness.

Unfortunately, these next steps are expensive, and I’ve already reached the limits of what I can afford on my own after emergency visits and initial diagnostics. I’m doing everything I can at home to keep him stable, but without further testing, we’re essentially trying to piece together answers without clarity on what is driving his decline.

Gimli is only 5 months old.I don’t want to give up on getting him answers if there’s still a chance to treat what’s going on.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be go directly toward his medical care including specialist evaluation, diagnostics, medications, and supportive treatment. If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping give him a chance.
