Give a little, help alot.

Hello my name is Mindy Rodriguez. Back in May of this year we were led by God to up root our lives in Michigan and to move out to Colorado.

My husband Carlos was fortunate to transfer from the Lowes in Michigan to Colorado but can only work part time. As of right now he can't even work at all for at least another month. See 2 years ago Carlos was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He had a severe flare up which caused him to be hospitalized for 3 months and out of work for over 6 months. While all this was rocking our world we also just had our first son and he was only 6 months old when we spent months going back and forth from the hospital. Carlos recovered most the way but can still only work so many hours. That caused him to lose his specialist position and specialist pay.

Carlos was doing great up until about 4 weeks ago. He started slurring his speech and losing his balance. We went to the emergency department and found out he had 3 MS spots in his brain that flared up causing his symptoms. He ended up having to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks to get steroids and therapy.

He finally came home but was told he can not work for at least another month.

We were already behind on our bills with the move but with losing Carlos' income we are just slipping into more hardship to the point that we might lose my vehicle if we can not make a payment soon.

I have a job as a medical assistant but I do not make enough to pay our bills and feed us. Its a horrible feeling when you have to chose to put gas in the car, pay a bill or buy food to hopefully last until the next paycheck.

We are trying to get foodstamps and help with the MS society but those take time and we are really hurting now.

With this money we will be able to catch up on our late bills, have gas in our cars and food in our fridge. It will also help us stay ahead until Carlos can get back to work. All this financial stress is not good on Carlos' MS and I don't want him to have to worry about finances but to only worry about getting better.

This money will also help us save a little to be able to move next year. We got an apartment on the second floor and it is really hard on Carlos to walk the stairs.

It takes a lot for us to suck up our pride and admit we need help. We avoided asking and telling people what was going on but we know we need to share this to help our family.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give. Even if you can't give, sharing this would be great. A little help really does help more than you know. God bless.
