I'd like to introduce you to Maggie Fawley. She is a wonderful, kind, caring, giving person who is always helping others in their time of need, without hesitation or question.

Maggie is very active in her community with benefits, poker runs and fundraising events on top of being medically disabled and working a part time job.

Maggie has struggled with Crohn's disease since the age of 27. Throughout all these years she has learned to control most of her symptoms through healthy lifestyle and eating choices, choosing organic living.

Three years ago, Maggie was hit with 2 bouts of Covid within 3 months which sent her controlled, in remission Crohn's disease into a downward spiral and she was found lifeless and unresponsive in her home.

Being taken by ambulance to the hospital, she spent the next 45 days fighting for her life in organ failure due to being septic. She was finally released to continue recovery at home with new doctors and alot of new medication.

One medication in particular is a new biologic used to treat Crohn's disease and it is given by injection once a week.

Over the next 8 months, Maggie showed very little improvement and was struggling with new health issues as side effects from the medications including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart issues, severe weight gain and a prolapse which required reconstructive surgery.

Maggie requested she be put on different medication as she felt she was getting worse not better on the meds she was currently being prescribed. After 2 additional months of requesting medication changes, which were denied, she chose to find a new provider.

Fast forward a year, which is how long it has taken her new group of Drs. to get Maggie healthier, Crohn's controlled and little to no symptoms.

Unfortunately, due to the over-prescribed use of steroids and the refusal to change her biologic, Maggie is now battling stage 3 liver failure and has just recently been diagnosed with biologic induced Leukemia.

The good news is this type of diagnosis is 90-95% curable with targeted treatment.

As if this weren't enough for her to deal with, Maggie fell while moving and broke 2 ribs, separated another, had a concussion and injury to her foot and ankle. It wasn't until 3 months later when her foot got to the point of not being able to walk did Drs. find she ruptured and tore tendons in her ankle requiring emergency surgery to graft and repair the tendons which is a 12 week minimum recovery.

It is all of the above mentioned we are requesting help for Maggie.

She was not set up for missing 12+ weeks of work on top of starting new treatments and blood infusions.

Maggie has fallen behind on her monthly bills, her vehicle is in repossession status and she is not able to cover her copay for her medical needs. And without a copay, there is no treatment so she is in a very difficult situation and needs help!
