The batizado is a rite of passage in the African-Brazilian martial art of Capoeira. Created by the enslaved Africans in Brasil, Capoeira was a style of fighting, used to escape, disguised in dance. Today Capoeira is practiced around the world, in nearly every country. In Las Vegas, Adam Kaswiner, "Professor Viajante," has been teaching for over 8 years. This year will mark the third graduation of his students, who will receive their first cord (like a belt in other martial arts), or promote to thier next cord! We will have guest Capoeira teachers coming from all over the country.
