I’m raising funds in memory of my friend Sierrah. Sierrah was brought into this lifetime on 2/22/01 and was a colorful spirit who lived with love, laughter, and the courage to stand up for what she believed in. She was a talented artist, and so many of the memories her loved ones carry are connected to her art and the light she brought into the world.

Sierrah was found in the woods near Leif Erikson Park in Sioux City, December 2018. She was only 17. Her loss has left a lasting impact on the people who loved her, and for a long time this memorial has been put off. Right now, the area where she was found is still just sticks and trash in the forest. That has been incredibly hard to sit with for those who care about her and want to honor her in a way that reflects who she was.

The funds from this fundraiser will go toward a custom photo laser-engraved granite headstone purchased through Etsy. This memorial would give Sierrah’s loved ones a real place to go to remember her, reflect on her life, and keep her name alive. It would also help others who come across the site learn about Sierrah’s story and carry that awareness with them.
