Greta's Gentle Goodbye
Greta, my sweet girl, has been my constant companion, and now we’re in our final days together.
She has a large tumor on her spleen and fluid building in her body. The vet has told me her time is very short, likely within the week, and that the kindest option is to let her go before she begins to suffer.
Greta has always been a sensitive old soul...quick to slip away when the vacuum comes out or when the furniture starts shifting around her. The vet’s office has always brought that same fear to the surface. So instead of saying goodbye in a place that makes her anxious, I’ve chosen hospice care at home, where she can spend her final moments surrounded by comfort, quiet, and love, resting on her favorite couch.
I’m asking for help to cover the cost of her in-home euthanasia and cremation, about $1,000 total. This will allow her to pass peacefully, without fear or pain, in the place she feels safest.
If you’re able to contribute, it would mean so much not just financially, but as a way of honoring Greta and helping her pass gently and with dignity. And if you can’t donate, sharing this is just as appreciated.
Thank you for helping me give her the peaceful goodbye she deserves.
