Our family has had many obstacles this year.

It started with a motor vehicle accident on February 14, 2026 (Valentine's Day). A driver in a quad pickup truck towing a large trailer crossed into the center lane, and the vehicle with Matt and his parents was struck. All of us have had adverse effects from the accident. We will never be the same, but we are thankful, as things could have been much worse.

In the midst of the accident, we found out that my mom had stage 4 blood cancer. She has been following the recommendations and treatment, which has pushed back her treatment from the accident issues to the back burner. She says that our family is in survival mode.

Our dad is requiring surgery to help fix things that happened as a result of the accident.

Usually, we have been able and blessed to be able to help people in need, and naturally we never thought that we would come to needs at a survival level of being.

We thought we were rather resilient, and we are in other ways; however, what we had available in terms of funds can run low very quickly.

So we are asking for help: funds, prayers, social media shares and likes, and the list goes on, like travel to get to subspecialty providers within a specialty. Usually at least three hours away, like Chicago and Indianapolis.
