Harvette multiple myeloma

This story began in August 23,2024 at 1am awakened by severe pain on my side. I stayed in the hospital 46 days countless blood transfusions iron transfusions and an extremely large hematoma in my abdomen. I still have the hematoma today! I have been hospitalized 12 additional times. Currently I am on dialysis 3 days a week and doctors appointment 2 days a week. I have not been able to work since this ordeal ( Hairstylist 30 years) I have contacted hospital borne infections which led to 3 additional hospital stays.

I would like to document the next phase of my journey with multiple myeloma and end stage kidney failure through pictures and written words to show the magnitude of change my life has endured since August/24. It has taken a substantial toll on my body and my mental state. I’ve been self sufficient for 30 years and prided on raising my children with the same tenacity.

Phase 2: Bone Marrow Extraction and transplant expected time : 3 weeks. I will have my imume system erased and slowly replaced by my own bone marrow cells that they are taking before they compromise my immune system, this is a very painful and time consuming process. Which requires a long hospital stay. Chemotherapy will be more extreme and I don’t know what to expect but I have a lot of people praying for me and that keeps me going.

I never thought I would be undergoing dialysis and chemotherapy every week and now this second phase is set to start, it makes me feel bad to put so much pressure on my daughter, family and friends. My financial need is greater than I can express I have been fairly private but this situation needs to be shared it will definitely help someone who may be facing the same problem.
