Health-Related Emergency Funding Needed

Hey friends, if you don't know me, my name is John Geiger, and I've spent my life as a husband, father, small business owner, and animal lover.

I'm suddenly at a desperate turning point in my life, and I feel very ashamed to have to write this and to have to ask for help from the community.

I am in a financial health-related emergency.

Although I am only 52, I am suffering from severe vertebral degeneration, in all areas of my spine.  

It was alarming when I received an unexpected call directly from the orthopedic surgeon overseeing me at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital, Dr. Rowan, to discuss the urgency of my situation: 

4 bulging discs and 2 large cysts are destroying my nervous system and my ability to walk.

Treatment was initially scheduled for next year, but I am now having an emergency laminectomy with lumbar spinal fusion THIS Monday, December 05th, 2022. 

EMERGENCY FUNDING NEEDED:

This emergency surgery has left me with no time to build up any resources needed while I recover.

Usually, I can financially prepare for not working during the downtime after surgery, but this urgency has caught me off guard. 

I have faced a dozen surgeries before, three separate ACDFs, etc., but nothing unexpected, urgent, serious, or scary for me.

That's certainly good news for my medical situation, but it leaves me with no time to save the money it takes while I'm down. 

I have started and run two businesses and now have run out of emergency funds because of my spinal issues.

My quality of life has deteriorated drastically. Most of the time, I can't stand up straight and am in constant pain even when I sleep. My legs either, if I'm lucky, go numb, or simply just give out after only a few minutes. 

Pills and other forms of therapy, physical or otherwise, haven't helped.  

With a little help, I'm hoping to pay off my past-due bills, keep my vehicle loan up-to-date and keep my businesses afloat while I'm down.

I understand that most give a little to others from time to time and this year, I'm asking if you can put just a few dollars aside or share my story with others to help with bills and expenses while I'm recovering and unable to work which I am told to be 6-12 weeks.
