Heat for child in need
I am raising $815 to help a local single father and his preteen child who are living with no electricity. They are currently in survival mode. Their pipes are frozen solid, and the dad is forced to lug water by hand from a neighbor’s house just for them to drink and wash.
He is doing everything he can—cutting wet wood by hand to keep the woodstove going and applying to every single business within walking distance because he is without transportation. But without power, they cannot thaw the pipes or keep the home safe.
The Goal: $815 (The "Fresh Start" Bill)
This amount is for an old utility debt from years ago. It is the only thing stopping Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative (EMEC) from restoring power. Clearing this allows them to use electric heat to thaw the pipes and finally have running water and lights again.
How You Can Help:
1. Donate to the Meter:
* 8 people at $100
• 16 people at $50
• 32 people at $25
2. Pay EMEC Directly: Call Eastern Maine Electric at (207) 454-7555 (Option 3). Ask to pay toward the account (once I get permission i will add the account number) . (Please message me if you do this so I can update our goal meter!)
3. Physical Materials & Help Needed:
• Dry/Seasoned Wood: Urgently needed to get the trailer temp up.
• Flooring Materials: Plywood, subflooring, or 2x4s to fix the trailer floor.
• Hauling/Truck Help: Since he has no vehicle, we need help moving donated wood or materials to the trailer.
100% of funds go to the utility company.
