Help! Disabled Family
Cheating, Misrepresentation and DOWNRIGHT LIARS! Is this really the new NORMAL in business practice? We all know the answer, even those perpetrating misdemeanor CRIMES AGAINST THE ELDERLY and DISABLED! ! !!
Is it right? Is it fair? Should it be allowed? Why doesn't Colorado have a LEMON LAW like Missouri does? How many Colorado residents has this happened to? Here's the REAL STORY of how a local merchant in a small town of a large percentage being DISABLED/RETIRED ELDERLY CITIZENS.
I am retired here in Canon City, Colorado, I'm elderly and I can't afford to live on my own. So, I must have a roommate, as I'm sure not the only one. I have a neighbor that is elderly and on a fixed income. She is one of the best neighbor's anyone could ever have.
Anyway, here's her story. She has a daughter, who also lives on a fixed income due to a disability, that lives in Florence, Colorado. Just a little note here, there is a small driving distance to get around from place to place, so a vehicle is a MUST! We all know that a vehicle is necessary for a family. It should be illegal for someone to sell a lemon vehicle to another individual but to “prey” on the needy and not mechanically inclined individuals by selling them pieces of junk.
Donna has C.O.P.D. and is on oxygen and her daughter Amanda has had several back surgeries due to issues with her spine and she has rods and a cage for injections which by the way is a 30-minute drive from home. Her spine is getting progressively worse and this family is in desperate need of a dependable used vehicle.
That's not what they got -- instead it's a nightmare! In December of 2018 our dependable vehicle was just too worn out to go any further and they needed a new used dependable vehicle. On this car lot in Canon City, Co are several vehicles each with their own ‘background'. Remember, now we have an elderly woman and a disabled woman looking to purchase a vehicle, enter Mr. Car Salesman. They promise the sun and moon, and everything is just peachy, and he has the perfect vehicle for them. Amanda needs something she can get into that is high enough off the ground because she can't bend her back very well without severe pain.
The car salesman made his pitch and talked them into purchasing the vehicle. After the credit check came back and Donna would qualify for the loan, they were sent to the credit union to complete paperwork. Little did they know that there were real issues with their new used vehicle. Within a couple weeks the front brakes went out and they were told by the repairman that the rear brakes were not far behind in failing.
Brakes are NOT what you want going out 2 weeks after purchasing a vehicle. They went back to the dealership and talked to the same salesman. When we asked to talk to the owner, he was never available to them. So, after numerous attempts at trying to talk with this dealership and not being successful they knew that they had been taken and were on their own to deal with the problem.
Shortly after Christmas the transmission went out. It's now September 2019 and the vehicle has sat in the same spot, Donna and Amanda have been paying the insurance and the payments on this TRASH vehicle and they still don't have dependable transportation and are out a great deal of money.
They need HELP -- A new dependable vehicle would be a god send, but the cost of the vehicle payments would lighten their load on life. Can you find the kindness in your heart and help them out with a little spare cash?
Thank you and God Bless!
