Thank you for visiting my page. Over the course of Memorial Day weekend, I was notified to potential fraud on my checking account with a text message from my bank, asking if I made specific charges. I immediately texted no to the automated message and I was told to call the fraud department.

They asked me if I made the charges, I told them no. They asked if I authorized anyone to make the charges, I said no. They then asked if I ever lost or misplaced my card, I told them it was in my wallet the entire time and someone had to have made a copy or clone... This part is very very important... As it becomes the recurring theme of my crusade.

When reviewing the charges, it seemed like a dream (or nightmare), someone charged close to 5000 dollars in 2 days on my account. Utilizing various atms (meaning they knew my pin), and businesses including Safeway, Whole Foods, Lululemon, The Home Depot, and spending 1500 dollars at USPS for what I believe is a money order.

Mind you, most of these places I've never shopped at, I typically utilize Instacart for my groceries since covid, and rarely go in anymore for convenience. Also, the totals for the groceries amounted close to 900 dollars. I live by myself, so it makes very little sense to spend that amount on groceries.

So, after disputing the charges, I was told by the bank, PNC Bank, they were not going to reverse the charges because they couldn't prove I didn't make the charges. The basis behind the decision was my physical card was used for the purchases. And although I was the one who told them I never lost the physical card (which they believed), they decided when I told them I didn't make the charges, they wouldn't believe me.
