Help a Decorated Army Ran
This is one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. We have spent our lives trying to handle our own responsibilities, but several emergencies have hit us at once, and we are now days away from losing what little stability we have left.
Right now, we are facing:
- Eviction if we cannot pay $876.00 by July 13, 2026
- Utility shutoff if we cannot pay $131.63 to Huntsville Utilities by July 10, 2026
- Phone disconnection if we cannot pay $309.59 to AT&T by July 24, 2026
- Roughly $457.00 in medical bills
- Food that will run out by the end of this week
- A title loan costing $346.00 every month
Stopping the most urgent crises requires more than $2,100 — and that does not include food, gas, ongoing medical needs, or fundraiser processing fees.
We have set this fundraiser at $5,000 to help stop the shutoffs and eviction threat, put food on the table, cover urgent medical needs, and give us a short window of breathing room while we continue fighting to rebuild.
About My Husband
He is 62 years old and receives $2,204 a month in Social Security.
I am very proud of my husband, and I feel blessed to have him in my life. I need to brag about him for just a moment.
He is a U.S. Army veteran. He served in some of the Army’s most demanding assignments, including the 75th Ranger Regiment, Regimental Reconnaissance Company, with experience in special operations and leadership roles. His service included extensive combat deployments and sacrifices that still affect him every day.
Some of his military decorations include three Bronze Stars and four Purple Hearts. He gave everything he had in service to this country, and I have watched him carry the weight of that service — both visibly and invisibly — every day since.
Much of what He is dealing with today traces directly back to those years of service. He lives with PTSD, a traumatic brain injury, serious knee damage, chronic foot pain from fractures and soft tissue injuries, multiple gunshot wound residuals, thoracic spine damage affecting nine out of twelve discs, and chronic neck pain with neurological symptoms. He has had several surgeries and is expected to have another before the end of 2026.
He is actively pursuing VA benefits that have been repeatedly delayed because of the complexity of his service history, records, and documentation. Once resolved, those benefits would provide major financial relief and help us avoid situations like the one we are facing now. But right now, we are still waiting — and the immediate bills cannot wait with us.
About Me
I am 63 years old and contribute $1,008 a month in Social Security to our household income.
I have also been facing serious health problems. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3-B kidney disease and have already endured hip, back, and neck surgeries. Another hip surgery is expected within six months. On July 7, 2026, we were also told that I have an esophageal hernia that requires immediate surgery.
The health challenges he and I are facing have been serious, ongoing, and expensive.
We Are Still Fighting
We are not sitting still, and we are not asking because we have given up.
Thirteen months ago, He lost his job as a 1099 sales consultant for a software company because of new issues related to his traumatic brain injury. Since then, he has submitted resumes every week, earned AI certifications, written two books, and currently trying to luanch an AI innovation business offering practical business services.
He is doing everything he can to become self-sufficient again.
But right now, the crisis has outrun the recovery.
We are asking for help so we can keep going.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
- Preventing eviction
- Keeping our utilities on
- Keeping our phones active so we can reach doctors, employers, family, and assistance agencies
- Buying food and basic necessities
- Paying urgent medical bills
- Easing the title loan burden
If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to us. Every prayer, share, message, and kind word matters.
This is a humbling moment, but we are facing it honestly and doing everything we can to move forward.
