I'm trying to raise money to help a homeless man's dog, Clanker, who is in desperate need of a knee surgery:  He has a ruptured ligament in a knee, and is in pain, jumping around on 3 legs.  Such an injury is especially difficult, since they live on the streets and need to walk everywhere.

I've known this homeless man, Ernest, for about 9 years now.  He and Clanker sleep behind some trash cans in a field a few blocks away from where I live.  About 3 years ago someone gave Clanker to Ernest when he was tiny puppy.  I noticed that he had worms, and so I helped Ernest get him de-wormed, neutered, vaccinated, and licensed - and I'm checking in with them weekly.   I sometimes take Clanker for a walk in Franklin Cyn. in order to give them both a break - and he enjoys the car rides, and the peaceful nature walks away from the streets, exploring all the sounds and sights.

Ernest is a very nice man - he does not abuse alcohol or drugs, and lives to take good care of his beloved doggie. 

We've now taken Clanker to two vets, who both said he needs the surgery asap - and a surgery appointment has been scheduled for Friday Nov. 17, 2017 at Panaroma Pet Hospital  (Dr. Suman) - hoping we can raise the money by then. Here's what I'm hoping to raise money for:

Consultation and initial X-ray:  $172

Surgery costs (quote):  $1446.10

Follow up visits, pain medicines, and injections (2x):  approx. $500

Possibly an Aosome Pet Stroller:  $144  

Special harness with handles to take the weight off the hips and injured knee:  approx. $60

The vets have told us there is a very big chance (up to 80%) of Clanker's other knee rupturing within a year or so.  If enough money comes in, I hope to set aside for this surgery:   $2000

Tarps to cover their few belongings and blankets on rainy days:  $11

Umbrella to protect against rain:  $20

Hoping some of these items can be donated, and if so, any additional money raised will be used towards food and other necessities for Ernest and Clanker:  tbd
